We welcome you to the horse breeding farm Skeiðvellir. If you want to get to know the Icelandic horse while traveling in Iceland you have come to the right place. Skeiðvellir is a family run horse breeding and training farm which is home to around 100 horses. We offer a unique chance to get to know our remarkable horses and explore the beautiful landscape on horseback. For those who don´t want to ride but do want to interact with and get to know more about the Icelandic Horse, we offer a guided tour of the stable with where you'll get a chance to be up close with the horses, pet them to your heart's content and learn of their long history and what makes them a truly unique breed of horses. Furthermore, for a small fee, we offer a little horse rental for children, where they can try sitting on a horse and riding it as a guide leads them around in the riding hall. A newly renovated two-story farmhouse with entrance on both 1st floor and in the basement. The second floor consists of 4 bedrooms, each equipped with two beds, a lounge and a bathroom with a shower. The first floor consists of a living room, a restroom and a kitchen with a dining room. The living room is furnished with two convertible sleeper sofas.  The house is located 9 km west of the town Hella in South-Iceland. From the house there is a view to the Westman Island and the volcanoes Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull. The location of the house is very convenient when it comes to visiting popular tourist attractions such as Geysir, Gullfoss, Landmannalaugar and Þórsmörk, just to name a few.
