Ari is one of the nation's most popular stand-up comedians and has also gained a good reputation in many countries abroad for his comedy shows.
In 2020, he became the first Icelandic entertainer to have a comedy show picked up by the American streaming service Netflix, while his show Pardon my Icelandic was distributed globally to more millions of people, who watched and enjoyed it. Pardon my Icelandic won Edduna in 2021 for entertainment show of the year.
