The Highland center Hrauneyjar

The Highland Center Hrauneyjar is situated at the edge of the country´s most impressive and active volcanic area. From here there is a short distance to many of the most beautiful and popular tourist attractions in the highlands- including Landmannalaugar, Þjórsárdalur, Mt. Hekla, Sprengisandur, Veiðivötn, and Fjallabak. The hotel is easily accessible by a paved road all year round and is only 150 km from Reykjavik. The place is known as the „last outpost“ before entering the highlands. The Highland Center Hrauneyjar has 71 rooms. The restaurant at Hrauneyjar offers a decent menu all year round. We offer a la carte menu, soup, and salad bar during the summertime.

The Highland Center Hrauneyjar is open all year round except for a few days during Christmas and The New Year.
