Mid-Atlantic 2015
For 23 years Icelandair has hosted the Mid-Atlantic tradeshow and this year it was held 5th -7th of February. Visit South Iceland participated in the tradeshow and arranged two post tours in cooperation with some of its members. In one of the tours Arcanum invited the guests to either a glacier walk or a snowmobile tour. The guests got warm soup before the glacier tours from the Black beach restaurant. On the way back a late lunch stop was made at Hotel Rangá. The other tour started with að stop at Þingvellir where guests were informed about the national park. After that the guests visited Laugarvatn Fontana and had a rye bread experience where they saw where the rye bread is baked in the geothermal bakery. After that the relaxed in the geothermal baths. Next stop was at Friðheimar where the guests were educated about horticulture and got the famous Friðheimar tomato soup. The final stop was at Fákasel Horse Park where the guests visited the barn and back stage of the Horse theater. The bus company Guðmundur Tyrfingsson transported the guests in both tours.
